Common questions
Getting started
What is Nexdo?
Nexdo is an AI task manager that turns whatever's on your mind into a clear plan. Dump your tasks in any form — typed, spoken or photographed — and Nexdo pulls out each task, spots the deadlines, estimates how long things will take, and shows you the one thing worth doing next.
How do I add tasks?
There are two ways:
- Tell the Assistant. Open the Assistant tab and type what's on your mind, tap the microphone to record a voice note, the camera to photograph a list, or the paperclip to attach a document. Several tasks in one message is fine — Nexdo separates them.
- Add one by hand. Tap the orange + button to set a title, estimated duration, deadline, priority, and optional steps and notes.
How does Nexdo decide what I should do next?
Every task gets a priority score from 0 to 100: how close its deadline is, counting the time the task still needs (45%), how important it is to you (35% — say it's “really important” and it counts for more than High) and how much work it takes (20% — the longer, the higher). Overdue tasks sit at the top of the deadline scale, and tasks without a deadline still get a score, so they're never forgotten. A task you've put off for a few hours comes back gradually, and when you say how much time you have, tasks that fit it come first.
The Next tab lines up your open tasks by that score, highest first — swipe the card to see what comes after it. To choose for yourself, open a task and pick Put first on Next. The card on top stays put unless another task clearly overtakes it, so small changes don't keep swapping it. A task with steps shows the next step to do.
What can I say to the Assistant?
Talk to it the way you'd talk to a person. A few examples:
- “I need to finish my history essay by Friday and call the dentist tomorrow”
- “I only have 20 minutes right now”
- “What should I do next?”
- “Reschedule everything overdue”
- “Mark the essay as done” or “Break down my lab report”
- “The dentist appointment is more important”
- “Undo”
What is Auto mode?
By default, the Assistant shows you what it's about to do — the tasks it found, or the change it wants to make — and waits for you to confirm. With Auto mode on (Settings → AI Inbox), it adds and updates tasks right away. Either way, type “undo” to reverse the last change.
Getting it done
How do focus sessions work?
On the Next tab, tap Start Session. A countdown starts right inside the task's card, sized to the task's estimated time (25 minutes if it doesn't have one). Pause and resume whenever you need to, tick off the task's steps as you go, and tap Complete when you're done — finishing the last step completes the task too.
The timer keeps honest time even if you leave the app. When time's up you'll hear a chime; if your phone was locked, it rings when you come back to Nexdo. Cancelling a session stops the timer and leaves the task exactly as it was.
What are AI Breakdown and AI Advice?
AI Breakdown splits a task into small, concrete steps with time estimates. You can edit the steps, add your own, ask for a different version with Regenerate, then confirm them.
AI Advice reads the task and gives you a specific tip for getting started. Both take into account the notes on the task and anything you've added under Add context for AI — for example, “I already finished the research.”
What happens when I add context to a task?
Nexdo reassesses the whole task for what you wrote. If your note changes the work — “I also have to study chapters 4 and 5” — it updates the time estimate, adjusts the steps and revises its advice. If it changes the deadline — “the teacher gave us until Monday” — it moves the deadline. The task's score is recalculated whenever those change. Steps you've already ticked off always stay done.
Nexdo never changes a task quietly: a card under your note lists exactly what changed, with the old and new values, or tells you nothing needed to change. If your note is unclear — “the deadline moved” without saying when — Nexdo asks instead of guessing, and changes nothing until you answer. If it can't reach the AI or can't save, your task stays exactly as it was and you can try again.
Can I push a task to later?
Yes. Open the task and use Postpone task to move it by a day, three days or a week, or pick a custom date. You can also tell the Assistant, “Move the dentist call to Thursday,” or “Reschedule everything overdue.”
What happens to tasks I've completed?
A completed task stays at the bottom of your Tasks list for seven days, then Nexdo deletes it for good — from your phone and from your account — so your list stays light. Until then you can untick it to bring it back. If you untick a task and complete it again, the seven days start over.
For a repeating task, only the occurrence you finished is removed; the task keeps repeating.
Voice, photos & files
What can I attach?
Photos (JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC), voice notes, and documents (PDF, plain text, CSV or Markdown), up to 6 MB each. You can attach several files to one message — handy for two photos of the same whiteboard — and add a short instruction like “just the deadlines.” Videos aren't supported.
My voice note didn't come through.
- Make sure Nexdo is allowed to use the microphone (your device's Settings → Nexdo).
- Transcription happens online, so check your connection.
- Try again somewhere quieter, holding the phone a little closer.
Still stuck? You can always type it instead — and tell us what happened.
Nexdo couldn't find anything in my photo or file.
Try a sharper, well-lit photo with the text filling most of the frame, or a file that contains real text (a scanned PDF of a photo can be hard to read). If a file couldn't be uploaded at all, check that it's one of the supported types and under 6 MB.
What is Magic mic?
Magic mic lets you run your list by talking: say “add call the bank tomorrow at ten, and mark the essay done” and the tasks change on screen while you're still speaking. Tap Undo, or say “undo,” to reverse the latest change. It stops listening by itself after a few quiet seconds, and after 5 minutes at most.
To use it, turn on Settings → AI Inbox → Magic mic: the middle button of the tab bar becomes a microphone. Magic mic is part of Nexdo Pro.
Plans & billing
What's free, and what does Nexdo Pro add?
Adding, editing and organizing tasks by hand, the Next page and reminders are free and unlimited. The AI features come with a monthly allowance, and Nexdo Pro makes it much larger:
- AI chat messages: 20 a month on Free, 400 on Pro. A note you add under “Add context for AI” counts as one message.
- Photos and documents: 3 a month on Free, 50 on Pro.
- Voice notes: 3 minutes a month on Free, 50 on Pro.
- Magic mic: Pro only — 50 minutes a month.
- AI Breakdown and AI Advice: 5 a month on Free (together), 100 on Pro.
A photo, document or voice note you send to the Assistant also counts as one chat message, since the Assistant answers it.
How do I see what I've used, and when does it reset?
Settings → Nexdo Pro shows what you've used this month. Allowances start again on the 1st of every month and unused amounts don't carry over. If the AI fails to answer, that request isn't counted.
When an allowance runs out, everything you do by hand keeps working — only that AI feature waits until the 1st, or until you upgrade.
How do I subscribe, and what does it cost?
Go to Settings → Nexdo Pro → Upgrade to Nexdo Pro and pick the monthly or yearly plan. The app shows the price in your currency before you confirm. Payment goes through your App Store or Google Play account, and the subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
How do I cancel or change my plan?
Go to Settings → Nexdo Pro → Manage subscription, or open your subscriptions in the App Store or Google Play. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account goes back to Free — your tasks stay exactly as they are.
Uninstalling the app or deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription.
I subscribed, but the app still shows Free.
Pro belongs to your Nexdo account, so first check you're signed in to the account you subscribed with. If you are, go to Settings → Nexdo Pro → Restore purchases while signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you paid with. Still not there? Email us and we'll sort it out.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, so refunds are theirs to give: request one from the App Store (reportaproblem.apple.com) or from Google Play's order history. The terms have the details.
Account & sync
Do my tasks sync between devices?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on each device and your tasks and Assistant conversation stay in sync in real time.
How do I sign in? I don't remember a password.
If you signed up with Google or Apple, use the same button again. For email accounts, enter your email address and we'll send you a 6-digit code — no password needed to log in. If you'd rather use your password, tap Log in with a password instead; on a phone you haven't used before, we may still email you a code to confirm it's you. If the code doesn't arrive, check your spam folder and that the address is spelled correctly.
How do I change my name, photo or password?
Go to Settings and tap your profile card. Your name saves as soon as you leave the field. Profile photos can be JPG or PNG, under 5 MB. New passwords need at least 8 characters, and changing yours signs you out on your other devices.
Can I change my email address?
Not from inside the app yet. Email us from your current address and we'll help you move to the new one.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. This permanently deletes your tasks, conversations, attachments and account on every device. It doesn't cancel a Nexdo Pro subscription — cancel that in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions first. Full details, including how to request deletion by email.
Settings & languages
Which languages does Nexdo support?
The whole app is available in English, French, Spanish, German and Arabic, with a full right-to-left layout for Arabic, and the Assistant replies in the language you pick. Change it in Settings → Appearance → Language.
Does Nexdo send reminders?
Yes. Deadline reminders are on by default: you get one on the day a task is due — at 9:00 when the deadline has no set time, which you can change in Settings → Notifications. For deadlines with a set time you can also be reminded 15 minutes, 1 hour or 1 day before, and get an extra reminder the day before for high-priority tasks. A task without a deadline never gets a reminder. Nexdo asks for notification permission the first time a task needs one.
You can also turn on Daily planning — one note a day with what's due and where to start — and Overdue task alerts, which arrive as a deadline with a set time passes. Tap a reminder to open its task, or use Mark as done. Finishing, deleting or archiving a task cancels its reminders, and you can turn them off for a single task from its details.
What does “Clear chat history” do?
It removes every message in your Assistant conversation, on your device and on our servers. Your tasks aren't affected. Files you attached stay in your private storage until you delete your account — email us if you'd like them removed sooner.
Troubleshooting
I see “Couldn't reach the AI.”
Nexdo's AI features need an internet connection. Check that you're online and try again in a moment. In the meantime you can still add, edit and complete tasks yourself.
A task's date or duration came out wrong.
The AI does its best to read dates and durations, but it can slip. Open the task and tap Edit task to fix it, or tell the Assistant something like “move the essay to Friday at 3pm” or “the essay will take two hours.” If it keeps happening with a certain phrasing, let us know — examples help us fix it.
Something else isn't working.
Make sure you're on the latest version of Nexdo and try closing and reopening the app. If that doesn't help, go to Settings → Help & Support → Report a problem in the app and tell us what happened and what you expected — it sends your app version and device along, and you can attach a screenshot. Can't open the app? Send us a bug report here instead.
